Barista and Co: A Modern Urban Escape in Parklands

HomeProjects – Barista and Co: A Modern Urban Escape in Parklands

Expert Commercial Design and Hospitality Innovation

The Vision:

The Best Of Industrial With A Touch Of The Outdoors. For Barista and Co, we wanted to realize a “Social hub” which offers a transition between the busy Parklands streets and an intimate interior sanctuary. Our Nairobi commercial interior design was all about an Industrial Chic vibe.

The Concept: Theater of the Brew

In a high-quality café, the preparation of coffee is the performance of the show. We laid the interior out with that service counter as a clear centerpiece. Situated conveniently near the entrance, it double-duties as an instant ”wow” factor to greet incoming guests and a spot for “grab-and-go” patrons who won’t need to break the flow of the seated area’s relaxed vibe.

Important Design Components: Modernity & Craftsmanship

Custom Craftsmanship:

We created unique kitchen counters and display spaces to really differentiate the brand. This custom joinery guarantees that the sophisticated espresso equipment's technical specifications are satisfied while preserving a polished, expert appearance.

The Contemporary Edge We incorporated a number of contemporary restaurant renovation ideas, such as high-contrast textures and industrial lighting pendants, to give the area a lively, modern vibe.

Wellness-Focused Design & Sensory Comfort

The atmosphere of a great cafe should be as pleasant as the coffee. To guarantee visitor comfort, we gave wellness-focused design top priority:

Natural Light Integration:

To let in a lot of sunlight, we used large glass shopfront windows. This removes the need for artificial lighting and connects customers to the outside world, making the cafe feel light and welcoming from dawn to dusk.

Acoustic Control:

Cafes with a lot of people can get noisy. In order to control sound quality and keep the area both lively for conversation and quiet enough for people looking for a quiet place to work, we used textured wall surfaces.

Greenery & Ergonomics:

We used ergonomic furniture and air-purifying plants in a variety of seating areas to create the ideal setting for any mood, from short meetings to long afternoons.

The Colour Palette: Creamy Sophistication

Departing from the dark, heavy tones often found in traditional coffee shops, we opted for a light, creamy, and white palette. This choice reflects the natural light beautifully and gives the cafe a clean, “fresh-start” feeling that resonates with the morning coffee crowd.

Value Delivered: Coordination & Precision

Due to the site’s high-traffic area and the fact that our team only served as the commercial interior design firm while an outside contractor handled construction, this project posed a special logistical challenge.

Seamless Cooperation:

To guarantee that the construction team carried out our design vision flawlessly, we supplied high-level coordination and thorough documentation.

Optimised Hospitality Space Planning:

We transformed a busy, small space into a high-performance layout that strikes a balance between guest comfort and service speed.
